Fast Fashun workshops and runway shows

Free
No bookings necessary.
Saturdays 18 and 25 November
Saturdays 9 and 16 December
12-4pm.
Family friendly.
Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult.

You are invited to create haute couture outfits out of clothing and textile waste. The Fast Fashun artists are on hand to help by giving demonstrations and assistance. There is a low barrier of entry into making an outfit; putting things together with just safety pins is encouraged. There are also sewing supplies available to use.

A runway show will happen every hour on the hour. If you’re keen, you can showcase your creation by strutting it down the catwalk.

We reclaim the fashion catwalk as an inclusive and celebratory space of creative expression.

Participants are also welcome to just sit back and watch the chaos unfold.

These workshops are supported by a City of Melbourne Quick Response Grant.

Mend it, don't send it (to landfill)

Hosted by milliner and costume designer Sarah Seahorse
Thursday: 7 December.

No bookings necessary.

Torn jeans? Broken zipper? Missing button? A blowout in your fave socks? Bring your beloved, worn-out clothes and learn some basic mending tips at Decay-Mart’s drop-in mending session. You’re also welcome to select things from the Fast Fashun pile of free clothes to mend. Mending materials supplied.
